London start-up, web-to-print

Hatch was a new concept in the printing industry – focusing on the London market, it was to offer a fast service that didn’t compromise its printing quality with a bright, fun and vibrant brand. The challenges were many, including, but not limited to, low start-up survival rate, especially in London; an extremely competitive market; and possible price war.

Netkandi got involved from the very beginning of the project, and after having received the brand guidelines, worked with the client to understand goals and expectations, not only from a technical point of view but also from a creative perspective. This was phase one – scoping and planning – and it was essential to provide a solid base for coming activities.

During planning, our team collected information and participated in the decision making process to shape Hatch’s offering. It included creating a clear structure of services; understanding technical details, such as payment gateway and file output for example; mapping the customer journey and designing wireframes to provide a simple and positive customer experience.

While busy working with Infigo developers to bring the website to life through creative imagery, keyword-rich content and SEO optimised webpages, Netkandi was also preparing the marketing and communications plan. This involved translating the brand essence to a wide range of channels: social media, advertising, email marketing, customer feedback management, press release and more… a lot more! A comprehensive service of integrated marketing communications with the key objectives of increasing brand awareness and, consequently, turnover was key for the successful outcome of this daring brand.

Netkandi took a brand from conception to number 1 on organic search results in 7 months. A great achievement only possible when the marketing team is aligned with the client and driven to promote a consistent message and strategy delivery.

Hatch reached over 1,000 orders placed online and offline by month 8 and celebrated its first anniversary in July 2018, becoming a part of the limited group of start-ups that survive past their first year. Netkandi is proud to have contributed to this story of success.
